Louisa Bertman

Louisa Bertman specializes in untraditional portraiture of powerful personalities. From Jules Feiffer Dr. Cornel West, her custom portraits reside in private collections worldwide. They have graced episodes of television’s The Gilmore Girls; campaigns for The L.A. Gay and Lesbian Center; and covers and contents of magazines and newspapers from Playgirl and GQ, to The Village Voice and The LA Times. Bertman is also working on a signature series of Rock & Art Portraits. Some of her signed portraits include Ringo Starr, Chris Isaak, Ziggy Marley, Huey Lewis,Cyndi Lauper, Chicago, Fergie, Keane, Anna Nalick, and Hilary Duff. The Boston Children's Museum is exhibiting "Life Size Paper Doll" a sculpture collaboration between Louisa Bertman and her father architect/sculptor Richard Bertman. Recently, Bertman’s illustrated portrait of Mikhail Gorbachev was featured on the front page of The Wall Street Journal, and she was recently commissioned to paint those crazy cartalk guys (check out their interview with her www.cartalk.com) for the upcoming 2009 NPR calendar.
